Stay up to date on the status of County roadwork improvement projects in their design and construction phases by exploring the County of Kauai Public Works Engineering Division Page, Under “Project Management.” Check out the Public Works Department’s Road Resurfacing and Bridge Status Map on the Roads Vision Page which tracks the progress made for island wide road resurfacing projects.
For State Highways and Roads, you can find the planned construction and maintenance closures for state roads on the Hawaii Department of Transportation Highway Division website on the Roadwork page, including a list of all the planned lane closures announced each week. HDOT also has a Highways Program Status Map that includes layers for current construction, future projects, completed projects, pavement condition, traffic volume, bridge conditions, and fatal crashes.
The County announces all County and State road closures via press releases published on the County Facebook Page, and there are community reported road-closures on Kauai Traffic Alerts Facebook Page which is monitored by County staff.
