You can get to most of Kauai’s lifeguarded beaches by taking public transit and walking or biking a short distance. As always with traveling on Kauai, use your discretion to determine if a route is safe for you to travel.   • Kekaha Beach Park
    • Bus: 200 Lihue to Kekaha Mainline
    • Stop: Elepaio/Akialoa
    • After Bus: Walk (or even quicker, and recommended, bike) 13 mins from there (Note, must travel briefly on fast-moving highway)
  • Salt Pond Beach Park
    • Bus: 200 Lihue to Kekaha Mainline
    • Stop: Mariko Store
    • After Bus: Walk (or even quicker, and recommended, bike) 20 mins from there (Note, must travel briefly on highway)
  • Poipu Beach Park
    • Bus: 30 Koloa Shuttle
    • Stop: Poipu Rd/Hoowili Rd
    • After Bus: Walk (or even quicker, bike) 4 mins from there
  • Lydgate Beach Park
    • Bus: 500 Lihue to Hanalei Mainline or 850 Lihue-Wailua Shuttle
    • Stop: Waipouli Courtyards
    • After Bus: Walk (or even quicker, and recommended, bike) 25 mins from there (Note, must travel briefly on fast-moving highway)
  • Kealia Beach Park
    • Bus: 500 Lihue to Hanalei Mainline
    • Stop: Kealia Beach
  • Anahola Beach Park
    • Bus: 500 Lihue to Hanalei Mainline
    • Stop: Kukuihale Rd
    • After Bus: Walk (or even quicker, and recommended, bike) 20 mins from there (Note, must travel briefly on fast-moving highway)
  • Hanalei Bay
    • Bus: 500 Lihue to Hanalei Mainline
    • Stop: Hanalei Post Office
    • After Bus: Walk (or even quicker, bike) 8 mins from there (Note, must travel briefly on highway)
  • Haena Beach Park
    • No Kauai Bus route available. To reach Haena Beach, make a reservation on the North Shore Shuttle at https://gohaena.com/!
  • Kee Beach Park
    • No Kauai Bus route available. To reach Kee Beach and Haena State Park, make a reservation on the North Shore Shuttle at https://gohaena.com/!
