How exciting, you’re almost on Kaua‘i! You’ve done your research on what to see and where to eat, booked your flights, and now you have to figure out where you’re staying, and how you’re getting around.
Luckily, there is an abundance of lodging, as well as a wide variety of transportation options available across the island. The transportation includes airport and destination shuttle service, the Kaua‘i Bus, bike rentals, ride share, and car rentals – not to mention walking when safe and feasible.
Many lodging properties will provide recommendations for how to get around, and some properties even offer transportation amenities (complimentary or for a fee) to their guests, as well as being able to help arrange other transportation services.
Due to Kaua‘i’s high traffic volume during peak hours, you may want to consider using a combination of these alternative transportation options so that you can make the most of your time on island and have a stress-free vacation without sitting in traffic. When you do need a car for those special destination trips, our recommendation is to only rent for the portion of your trip that is needed.
We contacted hotels and condominiums across Kaua‘i to gather information about the transportation options and amenities they provide on-site.
The list below should be used as a starting point and contains information from the properties we were able to reach and connect with via email or phone; as a disclaimer, it may not be fully comprehensive. Please check with your accommodation for the most up-to-date information on transportation amenities provided and their recommendations.
